ISLAMABAD: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has made a significant leap in global rankings, securing the 127th position in Engineering and Technology in the QS Subject Rankings 2025. This reflects an impressive 17-place jump from last year, further solidifying NUST’s status as a leading institution for high-quality education and research with a strong focus on R&D.
NUST Achieves Milestone in QS Subject Rankings 2025
For the first time, NUST has been ranked among the world’s top 200 universities in four disciplines:
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Additionally, the university has shown notable progress in 11 subject areas, while maintaining its previous ranking in five others.
Remarkable Progress in Key Disciplines
NUST has also made significant strides in broader academic categories:
- Natural Sciences: Jumped 72 positions to rank 322 globally.
- Social Sciences & Management: Improved by 39 spots, securing 361st place worldwide.

With Architecture/Built Environment now included in the QS rankings for the first time, NUST has at least one subject ranked in all five major categories, demonstrating its academic strength across diverse fields.
