Pakistan’s Zakat Nisab for the year 1445-46 AH has been officially set at Rs 179,689 by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety. Zakat deductions will only be made from accounts with balances exceeding this amount on the first day of Ramzan, anticipated to be around March 1st or 2nd, 2025.
Financial institutions are instructed to deduct Zakat accordingly and provide a copy of the CZ-08 form to the Ministry after depositing the funds into the State Bank of Pakistan’s Central Zakat Account.
Exemptions apply to customers who have submitted the necessary certificates. The Nisab has increased from Rs 135,179 in the previous year, reflecting changes in economic conditions.
